I don't think so these were travelling at a speed which I would estimate was equal or a little faster than commercial aircraft ?

There were some micro lights flying along the coast the other night at a quite high altitude.

If they were starlike they were probably satellites.

I really would love to believe they are UFO'S - I JUST LOVE SCI FI. But I guess frontalman and others are correct andthere is an explanation. But who will actually say what they were? Who doe sone ask?

If they were satellites they would have a smooth constant trajectory across the sky, with a perception of being high up.

Didn't notice the lights mentioned but we saw Chinese Lanterns last evening travelling eastward across Lapta, heading for the forest, why do they continue to sell and launch these mobile fire lighters, totally insane in my opinion.

Unless it can proved that they don't land until the candle has expired.... (a lit candle provides the energy to take them up by heating the air) but what if they are damaged and don't fly straight up - then disaster!Mikethebike wrote:Didn't notice the lights mentioned but we saw Chinese Lanterns last evening travelling eastward across Lapta, heading for the forest, why do they continue to sell and launch these mobile fire lighters, totally insane in my opinion.
It should be a criminal offence to construct, distribute or launch these - the potential for a catastrophe is unbelievable...

Re: ufo sighting tatlisu
Off topic I know, but most people would have noticed the forested mountain range running East to West, rising to over 900M, planes and helicopters have crashed into these mountains, an ascending Chinese lantern has no navigational equipment and is at the mercy of up draught, down draught, wind direction and design/structural failure. They can make contact with trees and shrub land whilst ascending, irrespective of them descending before the candle expires. Ban them, make it illegal to sell or import them as Groucho so rightly says.
