Why do all dogs leaving North Cyprus to go to the UK have to fly into Heathrow? why can they not fly into Manchester?

Would like to know the answer to this as well.
Always thought Turkish Airlines were ok to take animals to their various UK destinations. Maybe it is to do with which Animal Courier Company is being used? If it is a Heathrow Based one maybe that is the answer!

Hi
The only authorised air route from Ercan to UK for pets is for them to fly as "AVI/manifest cargo" with Turkish Airlines into Heathrow.
KAR and Turkish Airlines have been requesting 2 more approved routes for some time (Gatwick and Manchester) but to date neither has been approved. Other airlines (eg Pegasus) can take pets from Ercan into other EU countries but not UK.
KAR can arrange for onward travel from Heathrow if needed.
