I know people are fed up with this topic now but I would just like to get hold off the rotten scum who came on sunday night to our site in Karsiyaka asking people if they wanted puppies and when everyone said no they just dumped the mother and four puppies in an unfinished villa, so now we have a starving bitch and two puppies ( one was found dead in the communal pool ..... the other one we can't find ) that no one knows what to do with, most of the villa's are holiday homes and the few who live here already have dogs. what do we do.... they are being given water and some food at the moment but no one wants them permanently, I would just like to get my hands on the men that did this.....ok rant over

Just heard that KAR have 314 dogs at Arapkoy, and that does not include puppie.s However, I also believe they have a special mother and puppies policy, and they get priority. It seems they may have a lot of mums and Pups to deal with. Thank heavens that you are showing love and care for now. Poor little thing.s Would people know the man again if they saw him, and was he local.Probably desperate if nothing else.
I am beginning to understand how desperate people fele. my husband wants me to go toU.K with him for a few days, but that is impossible because of our Dog. Someone else could easily be tempted to take a short cut and a selfish route to going away. But that is no excuse, but just sometimes it is good to try to put ourselves inthe shoes of others who may be totally and utterly desperate and who can see no solution.

The sooner they change the policy and put to sleep all of these poor wee abandoned dogs the better. It just goes on and on!
My hope is that when the chip and register comes into force we will see much less. I know its a horrid subject but, really, what else is the future, apart from the few kind people who already are overwhelmed with feeding/adopting and keeping alive so many strays and abandoned dogs ?
We need to be realistic here. ( off to the dug out!)

Between a rock and a hard place, comes to mind.l Until educaiton reaches the people and they understand that spaying is the answer, unwanted animals will be born. Where do they go?
Changes are slow. and KAR HAS AN IMPOSSIBLE TAKS, WHICH MANY THINK the Government should take on board. But at th emoment the brunt is on KAR - a group of mainly volunteers. They can't even, as yet, get a vet to go into their super new premises at Karakum and save money on neutering, as vets want money which KAR doe snot have. The challenges are huge as they DO try to progress.
As children are educate di n s chools, it is highly likely that when they become adults, a different attitude could prevail. But for now, the challenges seem to increase and the answers decrease.

I feel so sorry for the people at KARS as they are taking the brunt of this awful problem and the government and all other authorities here just ignore it, also im sorry to have to disagree with you Marion and I appreciate you are just playing devils advocate ....but it doesn't matter how desperate they are they have no right to inflict their problems on other people who have to try and resolve a situation not of there making and the really worrying thing is you are right about it not getting any better anytime soon...

The 'chip and register' is in force, isn't it. It's making the problem of unwanted dogs worse, not better.
