We had a wonderful evening, Marie's buffet was outstanding, we raised 740 TL from a small audience, inc. donations from some very kind people both on this forum and on the night. There where not many people there, but the people who did attend had a fantastic evening and in fact every single person confirmed this .Everyone danced and enjoyed themselves.

So we are happy, I had hoped we could use this money to bring some happiness in to their lives a Sunnet party and maybe his Prince for the day suit etc.

But unfortunately at 7.30 just as I was about to open the show, I received a call form one of my friends and interpreter Yasin to say that Ismail had been taken very Ill and rushed to Gazi Magusa Hospital , it is a little sketchy at present.

But basically in layman's terms his remaining small stump where he lost his arm as grown and will continue to whilst he is growing. It has ruptured his skin and there is bleeding and infection.

We do not know if this will mean more surgery or even having to remove the last few inches of upper arm.

But at times like this the family need money so last night will be big help.

Angiebaby I sang your song but having just received this dreadful news it was difficult.

That is such sad news, this little boy has been through so much in his short life, i hope the news does not mean more surgery.

Such sad news, our thoughts and prayers are with this brave young boy and his family, please keep us informed Lee.

So sorry to hear this Johnny, please keep us informed on this forum. My heart goes out to this family, how much more upset can they take?

Lee We are so sorry to hear this ! I am at present working on a longer version of "Ismail's Song" do you think a re launch of the cd would help raise some funds if we were to market it better this time rather than available from the "Pork Shop" which still cracks me up !!! regards The Snakes's

Thank You for your concern, the latest news at present is that today Ismail unfortunately was due to go into the operating theater I do not know at present what is going to be done, but it is very likely that they may remove what was left of his arm.

I have just had a short conversation with his mom Fatma I do not speak much Turkish, but the poor lady is in bits.

Ismail is strong and a fighter , he was thrilled to bits at just having been picked for the village football team lets hope he can still play when he recovers.

But one major concern is what effect this could have on him in the future with regards to a false limb.

Maybe if he had not to undergo 4 years of cancer treatment the hospital could have monitored his stump closer.

Update on Ismail , Not the news we really wanted, Major Surgery for this little lad yet again. This is is fifth consecutive summer break spoiled by surgery or Chemo.

He has had a further approx. 2 centimeters of bone removed from what remains of his arm.
