I hope this post stays in the general section for a short while as I really want to help this small cafe that we stumbled on yesterday.

They have only been open 2 months and they deserve a mention.

It is called the OZGUM CAFE and it is the first building up the hill past Sheraz. For those that dont know it is the turning opposite Mardo`s and signposted to Catalkoy. Don`t take the Fez turning but go as if going to Catalkoy village.
It is a new fresh looking building, has a car park next to it for a few cars. Run by a lovely local Cypriot couple with such a warm welcome. They have a small balcony with a few tables that has a fantastic view of the Catalkoy coastline. Also plenty of tables inside. We only had a couple of soft drinks but they brought us freshly made pastries " to try " and they do cook breakfast and other items on request.

Glad we found this and we will definitely be going back . Plus it is cooler there, a welcome respite from the heat.

We live completely the other end and probably won't be in the area, but I do wish these local people all the best. It's a real struggle for them these days and they deserve all the help we can give them.

Yes indeed. It was quite the oasis. Cool, quiet, calm, and not a rip off.

We have been there a couple of evenings - the service was excellent. The menu was small ( manti, pirahou, quiches, shish ) but the food was fresh, nicely presented and very well priced. It really is a lovely little cafe with lovely people running it - hopefully they will make a go of it as they are trying so hard.

Totally agree with the positive comments. Lovely cafe, polite staff, good views, car park and REAL coffee - One Americana and One Latte plus a couple of small cakes for 10TL. Will definitely go again.

Maybe I am a snob but I hate instant coffee.
