Ok , now there are thousands of unfortunate dogs out there needing forever homes , but a friend of mine is quite specific , Dog should be medium sized , House trained , used to Children and Cats , in return will get a loving home , huge garden and lots of love .

Please check Hope 4 North Cyprus Pets on facebook - there might be something there that is suitable.

Please don't think that all KAR dogs are automatically street dogs, an lot of them are dogs that have already had homes but dumped by people no longer able or willing to care for them. There are over 325 to choose from and if for any reason a dog proves to be unsuitable after a period of time, KAR will take the dog back. This doesn't happen often as dogs are usually so pleased to have found a "forever home".

please give a Kar Dog a chance !as Sophie says they are not all street dogs a lot have been left behind by families , my dog WAS a street dog and she is a beautiful princess now !

Please, please, please go to KAR! They will take care to match a dog to your requirements.

Is your friend called David by any chance? Check out the pets section on this forum for some adorable pets. Not being funny, but KAR are a registered charity and have more chance of rehoming and looking after dogs/pups than Joe Public, we don't have the means of a charity backing us and hope that we can rehome some of the unfortunate ones that we take on. Hope for Cyprus Pets is run by a lady called Marie, she is the host to a website that is always trying to provide homes for the pets that Joe Public take on.

I agree with all these posting, please,please go to KAR and say what your looking for.Soooooooooooo many lovely dogs there looking for forever homes. I have a street dog and also one dumped by an English speaking family.

Gary I am amazed after all the years you have lived here that you seem to be unable to know how to go and find a dog for your friend, ? I am sure you will agree with me that its quite easy is it not. ?

Plenty of places to start looking would you not agree and yes the first place one would think of is to go up to KAR and look around. Then look on the Forums or Facebook. Look, why would you feel the need to post for one, ? Oh well each do it their own way I guess.

Please support KAR ad go and get one that is well suited to your friends needs i am sure they must have many that might well meet the requirements. All are always so loving and grateful, we have 5 rescue dogs and never had the need to go and find one they all came to us Good luck in your search now that everyone has pointed you in the right direction, let us know, and also a photo would be nice.

Hope 4 Pets North Cyprus also have many needy pets too, but they are also coming across this sort of thing, found out just this morning......Not long back from Famagusta! What a day, don't think we'll be doing that again. This puppy was one of many rounded up by the Gazimagusa Beldiye and put into a compound up at the rubbish tip. We're both heartbroken at what we saw! The puppy in this picture was nowhere to be seen, Hatice chose another puppy and we phoned the lady and she agreed to take it instead. So good part of this story is that one lovely little girl is now with her new family. The sad part is there are at least 20 puppies up there with not much food, dirty water and absolutely no love and affection. One of them also was limping! In addition there were very young pups, eyes open able to walk but that's about it, looking for their mum who was nowhere to be seen! They also couldn't access the water and had none at all, we filled up their water dish. Sadly we left them all behind to almost a certain death without their mum. As there is no rescue centre in Gazimagusa these street animals have absolutely no hope at all.

Many pets all over North Cyprus are in need of a loving forever home, but it seems that many,many out there are also in need of food,water and shelter !

So KibKom friends and members why not join the Facebook group, Gary I know your on F,Book...Come join us each and every one of you,, and help. contact us with a little food from time to time, a little free time once a month. anything but to read something like the above without feelings ! Many may not be dog or cat lovers, but please remember that these dogs and cats are dying like flies, not a quick death but a slow painful death. ! ! !

OK I have decided that i will £100 of my own money to the first person that phones me 0533 839 5561. on one condition that they give me their Kib Kom name, meet me to collect the money for you then to purchase £100 of pet food. This will then be taken to where it is needed together or by someone who will be very happy to collect the food ad feed these dog.

Hope 4 Pets North Cyprus will be making a difference, this is just the beginning.

if a trip to KAR was always on the cards, your words in last post. why waste our time and probably get people's hopes up who are trying to rehome a dog!

How was I wasting peoples time / getting their hopes up ?? There are many who are struggling /need to find good homes for their pets and would rather that, than feel that they are abandoning them by passing them onto KAR.

Maybe a trip to KAR should be the first port of call, and then if there is nothing there to suit your friend's requirement,s you could ask further around.

There are several posting son facebook and here where individuals are trying to find homes for dogs, and they do get their hopes up when they read of a request such as yours.

It is such a shame that there are so many abandoned dogs, and an even greater shame that there are not homes for all of them.

Will be interesting to hear if KAR has what is wanted. I always find that when one sees a dog one knows if that is THE one.

(slightly BUT when I got home today on the floor of my garage was a huge chunk of revolting 'fat' with a kidney or some such in it. Why my garage? wAS THERE POISON IN IT? fOR WHO OR WHAT WAS IT MEANT. No more in the street, just in my garage. Frightening! Also this morning suddenly four kittens appeared on my back wall looking for food. It does seem to be becoming a greater problem each day.)

But I am fearful for other animals. It is not so long ago that a stray was poisoned and die don my doorstep - deliberate poisoning of this one dog out of a dozen or so that roam the street!.

I am sureone day things will imjkprove, but for now I feel so sorry for the animals that don't have a fighting chance. But then I needonly look ver the waters at children that don't have a chance - and we cannot save the world, can we?

I think you should all hang your heads in shame and get off ttoli's back. They have just posted what kind of dog their friend would like and all you can do is criticize him and tell him where and what to do. Give the bloke a break, we all know the situation at KAR but how many of you who have nothing better to do with their time than criticize others give any of their own time as a volunteer at KAR??

MANY if you know any of the user names on this forum( I could name at least half a dozen). You don't have to work at the kennels, the office or the shops, in order to support KAR. Not trying to start a war, but may I ask, what do you do?

Mozgor - We've got one just like it and love her to bits - cheeky little thing she is though - found wandering about the back streets of the old town in Girne. We call her Tiny Wee!!!

These two are inseparable, have just been neutered and treated. They are about to be groomed. Great with kids, even little ones and great with cats, they definitely fit the bill.

These two would make wonderful pets they have wonderful gentle temperaments?

My friend visited Kar this afternoon and fell for a lovely little chap called Peke, I understand that he is getting to know the 2 resident cats already

Wonderful, wonderful news. Thanks for telling us. I am SO glad, and I am sure that other KibKomers will be glad to read this. At least that is one happy dog to balance out all the rotten stories we have been hearing this week.
