Why is it I have to keep logging in every couple of days despite ticking the box to automatically log me in. Is it something on my computer I need to change. Any help would be appreciated.

If it happens every time you switch your browser (Firefox, I.E., Chrome, whatever), your browser settings are probably set to clear your browser caches when you switch off. This is useful as it prevents a build-up of cookies, temp files and other bits and pieces, which gradually slow your computer down, but can cancel auto-logins. You can alter the setting (usually in tools/options or similar) to not clear after each session.
If it is NOT every time you switch off browser (or computer), do you have any clean-up programs such as CCleaner, Wise365 or similar? Running these will also present the same effect, as these also clean cookies etc. I have both these programs, and after running either of them, always have to reset all my auto-logins.

Thanks Jofra. I tend to stick to using Chrome and I have checked the settings on there and it only clears browsing data after 4 weeks. I am not aware of any clean up programs on my computer. The log in seems to be random, sometimes it will be everyday I have to re log in and sometimes it will go ok for a few days. It just drives me potty.

Hi, I did a quick search for
"Forums Auto login failing Chrome"
and found (among others) a thread heading -
Why has Chrome stopped performing auto login for me?
with this link -
https://productforums.google.com/forum/ ... aZ7UhxvTHc
- the posts date back from 2010 to 2012, but there seem to have been a few having this problem when using Chrome on both PC's and Apples. Before trying any of the suggested (and varied) "solutions", might it be worth trying Firefox or Internet Explorer for a week or two, to see if the problem arises with those?
I've used Firefox since it started, and had no problems except as said when I've used a cleaning program.
Incidentally, both that I mentioned are highly recommended - and free! - and do clean and speed up your PC. CCleaner is the older and simpler to use; can be got from the makers (Piriform) or from FileHippo.com. If you go for either, make sure you select the free version! Of course, if/when you run it, you will have to reset your autologins again, but only until the next time you run the cleaner!
