We all know and love the classic British comedies.
Steptoe and son, DadeS army, only fools and horses, vicar of Dibley to name but a few.
But what is your favourite.
Hardly ever find american comedy funny but I think that Frasier, for me is the best.
This is measured on how many times I laugh throuout the programme.
When I asked the same question of my erstwhile work mates I was met with laughter.

One of my favourite TV series was Rising Damp, particularly Leonard Rossiter, but also the other wonderful characters in it.

Morecambe and Wise - "I am playing all the right notes just not necessarily in the right order" - Classic
Dad's Army - "Don't panic Mr Jones" or "Don't tell him your name Pike!"
Only Fools and Horses - Chandelier Episode " Brace yourself Rodney!" - This has me in tears to this day.
Porridge - Can't think of anything off hand but such a funny programme

Hi Squashmad as soon as I opened up the link the memory of that funny series hit me, fantastic.
Only fools and horses brilliant serious.
The chandilier, dell failing over in the bar etc.
For me, one of the best characters was Trigger (roger Lloyd pack)
One of the best jokes I think was his reference to his council broom.
I've had the same broom for twenty years, we've only replaced the head fourteen times and the shaft twelve. (Something like that).
Roger was of course the brilliant Owen Newit in the vicar of Dibley.
Sadly roger died of cancer last year at the age of 69.
Great British actors.

Porridge was mentioned, but not "The Two Ronnies" (the "fork 'andle' episode was an all time classic and I think can be found on U tube) or "Open All Hours". I enjoyed The Two Ronnies for the clever use of words, which reminds me of "Just a Minute" (still on Radio 4X) whichthe BBC class as a Comedy.
And what about "The Darling Buds of May" if only to drool over the food (or Catherine Zeta Jones for the men)

I don't think Mrs Brown's boys should be typed anywhere near the great Fawlty Towers!
I also liked:
The Office
Drop the Dead Donkey
Outnumbered
Saxondale
Coogan's Run
Brass Eye
