Is anybody experiencing probs with IPlayer today? All my favourites come up and everything appears OK but when I want to download it comes up with "Problem down loading...... Removed programme". I don't seem able to play anything from IPlayer itself either. Is it the BBC's prob or is it something my computer has done? I've done the fixes that used to cause a problem before this new version but that hasnb't helped. Any ideas anybody?

We have had the same problem since late last njght.

It is always worth checking the bbc iplayer help page to check if there are any know problems here

Currently there is nothing about the problems you describe. I have tested both streaming and downloading here (for a few mins only) and both appear to be working for me. It looks like it may be something your end - I would try again (both streaming and download) and if you are still having problems drop me a PM and I will try to help.

I sometimes got this error when a new version of iPlayer existed and had not been downloaded and installed. There was a recent new release. Have you got the latest version because it seems a lot better to me... we used to get stuttering when replaying downloaded progs which we don't get now.

Just a tip about I Player if you download any programme on the BBC I Player site on say the morning when the internet is faster you can watch it buffer free at your leisure. Just going to watch Hotel India what a documentary.

After Erol posted the info on updates I switched Iplayer on and in the top right corner was a red box tell me update available, that done all sorted. Thanks Erol.

As tempting as it is to take credit , I think it was actually Groucho who mentioned updating. Anyway glad to hear its working for you again.

Thanks everybody. I installed the update and all working now. I wish the Beeb didn't think that we all have crystal balls.......

Glad it worked... programs downloaded compatible only with the new version of iPlayer don't work with the old player - it's one wrinkle the BEEB seem unable to iron out... just remember to check for a new version if the problem happens in the future (which it will!)
