My friend recently had a hip replacement at the Near East and is very pleased with it. I am also attending the same surgeon Dr Deniz Aiden for a wrist problem. Very nice guy, excellent English, worth a visit! good luck.

Yes Muppet I had a full knee replacement here in the TRNC. It was very successful.

To give you some idea of the result, I now have movement in my leg of about 120 degrees from the horizontal. This is extremely good flexibility. No pain. No problems since the operation.

The Dr provided excellent after-care, visiting me every day in hospital, including even calling in at the hospital late one Saturday night to check up on my recovery. There were also regular phone calls after hospital, to monitor the progress. Where would you get that in the UK?

The Dr is based in Magusa. However if you live near Girne, don't let the distance put you off. It didn't for me and I am more than satisfied.

I can fully recommend Dr Hakan Dincyurek. His tel no is 0542 851 2928. He has considerable experience, having performed operations since 1991 in both TRNC and Turkey.

Just a thought, you may like to consider having a consultation first and see how you get on.

If you would like any further information, please let me know.

Hope that helps,
Joe Soap
