I live in Ozankoy between the village and Bellapais. Can anyone tell me where what appeared to be fireworks were coming from this morning between 2-2.20 am? Why are they allowed to set them off so late (or early!!)

They drove all the local dogs including our three mad! They were extremely loud and our youngest rescued street dog was shaking like a leaf.
Cratos were also booming loud music out at 4am on Friday, now I await the usual comments about how nice to hear of people enjoying themselves!

If there is a cut off time for load music, then I don't know what it is. One two occasions in the last three weeks Escape Beach has gone on until nearly 4am!

I heard bangs at about 2am Saturday morning it but (probably because I am am further away) I dont think it would have woken me if I had not already been awake, and it did not set off my and the local dogs, but I heard others in the distance. I thought it was guns and wondered if it was an Army exercise since they could hardly be hunting in the dark - could they?!!! There was also a very brief burst of similar sound at about 4 this afternoon - practicing for tonight/tomorrow?
I thought the cut off time was 11.30 - certainly - and thankfully - the local Sports Club which is a venue for wedding etc. keeps strictly to 11.30.
There used to be a special officer designated to deal with complaints about loud music, particularly at "unsocial" hours, but I am sorry I cant remember the details. Perhaps Marion would know? Probably Environment Health Dept. is the place to start because it can be a health hazard for the elderly, sick and young children.
