Water Problems In Lapta

Telephoned Lapta Belediye yesterday as I had run out of water to enquire when I might next get some. Answer was that there was a 'well problem' and they had no idea. Later in the day was told by two TC friends in the village that Kibtek had disconnected the pumping station electricity due to non payment of bills. Dare say we will still get a bill for non-available water for the current month! Anybody with further news on this situation?

Seems a shame that they have invested all that money in digging a huge new well at Seviltepe and won't be able to pump it anywhere.

Can anyone else verify this is the problem as we have,nt had water for over four days.

When Lapta took over all the small villages they put up the water charges to them all ie,from 2 tonnes -2tl to 2 tonnes 15tl . a substantial increase,
but they also recently lost all the income from street lighting that they never passed on to Kibtec

Topten you get your water from the mountains above Karsiyaka controlled by a set of valves and mainly using gravity I believe

We live in Baspinar (spring head) I think we are about 4th in line from the supply and we have also had no water for a few days,

But to be fair this is the first time in 6 years that our water as ever been off

Knowing the reason why would be good.

I live in Karsiyaka as well but we have only had mains water twice in a month. The tankers are few and far between and on phoning this morning was told the wells are empty. Back to Alcohol it is then,,,lol.

My Cypriot friend went and saw Namsoy yesterday, and he said the electric has been paid, that's not the problem. She didn't find out what the actual problem was though.

I think I have some facts now. This is how it as just been told to me, from last nights local T.V. news.

Lapta , purchased some private wells and Kibtec expect them to pay the previous owners debt and they are in dispute.

My neighbours, son who works for Lapta Belediyesi, told us and his parents yesterday that there won't be any mains water for the next month, surely that won't be allowed will it ?

Lapta ....
Just had a look in mains water tank and we are about quarter full
Don't suppose we will get any water turned on yet from Belediyesi
So it will have to be a tanker delivery.
