With no aircon/fans, no cold water, no water pressure, no electric cooker, no telephones etc the last thing that will bother me is access to the internet, we lived without it before and surely can do again.

I'm informed by my TC Father-in-law, who before retiring used to manage a department of Telecom here, that (as Marion stated) this proposed strike will not affect the use of Turkcell and Telsim. Moreover, he stated this action is likely to provide more business for the aforementioned private companies ... ironic when you think that TelSen are protesting about the proposed privatisation of Telecom

Thanks Ian for the clarification. And don't worry the rest o you, the land line shouldbe O.K until Monday.
could I make a suggesiton here for those of you who don't haveone - get a car charger for your mobile. I have one and it is innvlauable for recharging away form home, and of course i there isno electric in th home, it could be anotherboost for some traders, but of vital use to us al when the phones give out. I got mine in Lemar a whileago.
Just an idea.
and I agree with Ian that the other companies will have a boost to theirprofits. Something about an 'ill wind'.
Not looking forward tothis, butI do know that my internet is my communication with the word, Don't care about air con, cooking, etc, etc, but I don't like to be an enforced hermit. not my scene.

good news about telecom. it was a scarey thouight that one could not pay one's phone bill and owuld therefore have it cut off (I had paid mine up to date, but....)
As to electric - the whole thing is incomprehensible to me anyway - but I DO hope that the people don't suffer as a result of it all. So await good news that it won't happen - but I won't hold my breath for too long, it could have a nasty result.
