On my late Dad's orders , this was played at his funeral , He wanted the day as a celebration of his life (and his twisted sense of humour)

How about after a cremation "smoke gets in your eyes"? At my husbands funeral as he had, had a Gaul bladder op,( not the cause of death!) He loved Bobby Darin so" Mac the knife" seemed appropriate. At least people laughed!.

Although not particularly religious, I find the words in George Harrison's "Life Itself" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86PGnk9jK84) seem to encompass most - if not all - beliefs - and if there is something/somebody there, perhaps these words reflect this....

Top Ten, I think I know your choice without looking, and I sincerely hope its along way off. I recall it being played in that superb series, Lipstick On Your Collar.

Also I played it a few times for you.

A nephew's wife's dad was a multi millionaire with a garage full of cars with his favourite a red Ferrari that he would race as an amature on track days. He stated in his will he wanted to be cremated in his red Ferrari driving suit and helmet and the undertaker was informed.
"Can't do that," said the undertaker.
"Why not?" they asked.
"All racing driver suits are fireproof."replied the undertaker.

So posthumously his cremation song should have been The Rolling Stones, "You Can't Always Get What you Wanna" Even though you gorra lorra dosh.

This is a true story.

With all the misspelt replies I guess a lot of artists will be turning in their graves!
Personally I'm with the late great Peter Sellars with Glen Miller's 'In the mood' - I would like to pick something that would put a smile on the faces of those who knew me....

My friend's husband was carried out the church to Glen Miller's" In the mood" he has various items with him in the box, including a bottle of Efes, Fullers, and Guiness. I said yes we know, we heard them rattling around as it passed us!!Not really but she was mortified!!

If my family refused to play my first choice then it would be 'Fire and Rain' by James Taylor.
