Why are we surprised ? they are looking for excuses all the time,if a bird flew from the north and crapped in the south that would be reason enough to call off the talks. Its a joke

No surprises there.
And better still no direct flights bringing hoards of unwashed tattooed drunken noisy vomiting tourists.

How about this for a scenario to make the GC's get off their backsides and get things sorted (that's if they really want to).
Don't bother ploughing Hundreds of millions of Lira into a theme park by Ercan airport.
Spend some of the money rebuilding / revamping three or so of the hotels (in the forbidden zone) adjacent to the Palm Beach hotel at Famagusta.
They could provide inclusive tours of the abandoned zone showing the historical sights and show potential investors into what would be a fantastic holiday destination once again but within the TRNC.
See how quickly the GC's willingness to talk would speed up if that happened!

Philoz.
You are now walking on thin ice.
I have had tattoes for over 55 years, do not make statements on this web page like this.
I would have said, NO PEOPLE WAREING SHORTS MADE FROM THE UNION FLAG.
I am in the Tropicana mosts afternoons if you feel the urge to come and put your point over we could do this over a beer.
Mel.
The other half of KARMELS.

But don't bring in the tattoos.
Most of the top stars are displaying body artwork.
Get a life.

Keep it on topic guys.

Think Philoz made his point, however do agree that not everyone with a tatoo is a beer swilling lout.

Cheers

From all the news reports there are on this subject, it seems like Turkey is yet again the only country supporting the the TRNC! So much for guarantor nations then. The RoC wants it all and are more than willing to share it all with themselves but not with anyone from the North. I think this time, having already been warned before that Turkey would support the rights of the Turkish Cypriots, they have bitten off more than they can chew. This will grow!!!

As Turkey can put around 3,000,000 tin hatted men into the field within 7 days - I would not bother digging out your own!! Last time I looked into it the TOT from Turkey to Cyprus was 7 minutes - enough time for a quick beer - lol.

Deniz1, Me neither! Done my 25 year bit so now know how to hide properly!! Mind you, from the extensive World Wide news coverage this new "Moan" from the RoC is receiving, we may be the only people who actually know about it!!! Don't worry.

The talks will be back on a week.

The Americans are orchestrating the negotiations and money talks.

Art, my view entirely! If the oil/gas is to be exploited, the South will be 'told' how to proceed. My own view is that if there is ever to be a North/South agreement, it will come in the next couple of years, as this is the time scale in which a decision has to be made about how to get the Israeli and Cypriot gas out to Europe. If no agreement appears, I think Turkey will present a new plan and end negotiations.

karmels, well they better put on a bus then because my marching days are over for sure. Still, if they need me that bad so long as they give me a rifle and point me in the right direction I will give it a go - after all I live here.

Spot on PapaBravo.

The Ameticans want the gas to go through Turkey thus by passing Russia.

I notice the South have already started to soften their approach and have again stated their commitment to a negotiated settlement.

Political posturing!!
