We have today been warned of poison at Lara Beach - please do not walk your dogs there. A dog belonging to a KAR volunteers has died as a result of eating poisoned food, a dead cat has been found nearby and a KAR tag dog from the same area is missing.

Please be vigilant and keep your animals away from this area.

It is possible that someone put poisoned food to kill rat infestation, and unfortunately stray cats and dogs consume the poison. It is common practice among the locals DIY pest control.

The other theory;
Sadly, some local authorities dispose of dogs and cats by poisoning them or shooting stray animals. Although its illegal act, I was told by a local "who lost her pet dog" it was shot by the warden. I suggest you contact the local authority and find out if they were carrying out pest control exercise in the area

Better alert the local authority to avoid further incidents.

God bless these poor animals! We both do not understand the mentality of someone who does this and we probably are going to put ourselves under fire here but to us this is inhuman and cruel behaviour to wantonly kill another living creature in this horrific way.
No excuses, they know exactly what sort of painful death the animals who take the bait will have to got through. Do they care ? NO!

Fatsam, KAR do all that you suggest and more when a report of poisoning goes in to the office, this message on Kibcom was to warn people who walk their dogs in that area. Regarding the "dog Warden" to the best of my knowledge there is no such position. official or otherwise.

This was passed on to me by my Turkish friend, it is part of a large hotel group from Turkey who run these hotels.
I have visited one in Gazipasa when it opened, they have seperate swimming for men and ladies, the ladies is covered so no males can look in. There is no alcohol, these hotels are very popular in Turkey and the one in Gazipasa was full all last summer, or the 4 months we were there.

Know this is off thread, however, interesting note that even though a Muslim hotel, with strict no alcohol and separate facilities for sexes, a casino complex is also being built from what I've been told, seems to go from one extreme to another.
