Public Holidays this week

Noticed in my diary that it is a public holiday in Republic of Cyprus tomorrow, 28th October (Greek National Day) and just had an email saying it is a holiday in TRNC on Wednesday, 29th October (Turkish Republic Day). So anyone thinking of going South should probably avoid both days and be aware that the banks/public offices will probably be shut here on Wednesday.

Would the Turkish side pedestrian border crossing at Ledra Street be open on Wednesday, seeing as it's a Turkish public holiday?

The crossing points will be open but normally on Turkish public holidays Metehan is very busy so best avoid driving that way unless you go very early.
