Hi all,

Am looking to convert an old silver( hallmarked ) trophy for cash and wonder where to get scrap value.

Was going to try the jewellers in Girne but if anyone has had first hand experience.....would be grateful.

Heard that a lady who sells at Lambousa market may know, if anyone has a contact number?

Although I don't have her phone number I was told by a lady at Lambousa that the scrap value of silver is very low here, 1tl a gram.

Its about 24 pence a gram in uk. Your trophy must weigh a lot though if its sterling silver.

How much does it weigh? I have a neighbour who buys silver. I could ask him how much he'd give you for it.

I would take it to Panama, your missus can use it to pay the ransom when you are kidnapped! Only joking Malcolm, but you'd better take it somewhere where they don't think you are desperate mate....
