In trying to uninstall the above on my Lenova, I've succeeded in completely mucking the whole thing up and can't get into my PC, to put it mildly I've locked myself out. I was trying to go back to normal switching on but was too clever by half and can't get into the thing in any way whatsoever. Help would be much appreciated!!

Not 100% sure but in the past I have got round access by remove an refit of the bios memory /battery!

Surely that means going into the "back" of the laptop doesn't it and I'm not up to doing that, afterall I'm the one who has succeeding in locking herself because I inadvertently told it NOT to recognise my own fingerprint!

Sophie, I know nothing about computers, but have a Lenovo Laptop. Can you not back track what you did in NOT recognising and then reverse the procedure.

No help to you, but I spent all day last Sunday trying to get rid of programmes that came about after trying to download Google Earth and I had to uninstall everything that went on that day. I couldn't believe I had managed to do it, but my laptop has not been the same since. Feel for you.

Don't touch the Bios... whatever.

You should have the option to 'sign in' with you PASSWORD. This will appear as an icon when you open the computer. There has just been an update with Lenovo finger-print reader, asks for every site I now sign into.

Hi Select, its a bit late to tell me not to touch Bios!!! This is a B590 with core i5 4th generation with every whistle and bell you can think of. Not a new one because it has a metal chassis. To the best of my knowledge I've never had an ordinary password to get into it. (just a pretty flower on the screen which I used to click on)

Sorry Dalartokat, but its the fact that I can't get into the laptop at all, which means I cannot do what you suggest. The Windows gubbins comes on the screen, then the request for finger print recognition. However it's my finger print that I accidently deleted when attempting to uninstall the programme, hence I can't get the laptop to operate.

I've always signed in with a password, but mine was set up for me when I bought it. Hope you get sorted soon.

I've done it!! I must have a brain cell that I didn't know I had, phew. It's taught me one thing, I won't be signing on to finger print recognition again that's for sure. One other thing - if you have long fingers nails, you can't do it in any case because it wants to register your prints right up to the tip and your nails would get in the way. It's a man thing I guess!!.
