Who is brave enough to dip more than their toes into the sea on Christmas Day?

Tulips is very fortunate to benefit from two Christmas Day Swims details as follows:

West Side of Girne:

At 10am on Shayna Beach (Catalkoy) there will be a sponsored swim for 3 charities of which is Tulips.

The Shayna Beach owners are generously sponsoring the breakfast and refreshments that morning with all proceeds being donated to the three local charities so even if you are not a swimmer, you can still participate by sponsoring a swimmer or by joining the swimmers on Christmas Day and having breakfast at Shayna Beach with the full knowledge that you are supporting 3 local charities!

This swim is being organised by Barbara Fursman and Annalise Friede; sponsor forms are available by emailing tulipscarole@yahoo.com, from our stall at Catalkoy Lemar Saturday Market and also our stall at Saturday's Lambousa Market.

East Side of Girne:

On the east side of Girne the Christmas Day swim will take place at Kervansaray Beach at 11am in aid of Tulips. This swim will start at 11am however swimmers are being encouraged to arrive at the beach about 10.30am.

Refreshments are being sponsored by Savas, the owner of the Sh-Boom Bar (Alsancak).

This is a sponsored event and sponsor forms are available from the Sh-Boom bar or contact Shelly Massey on 0533 864 0753 for further information.

This year there will be no excuse not to get wet for Tulips on Christmas Day as there is a swim on both sides of Girne!!

The Catalkoy (which is East of Girne) swim is in aid of Karakum Special Needs School , Kyrenia Animal Rescue and Tulips. If you want to join them in the water or want to sponsor any of the swimmers then you can also contact …
KAR Office – 0533 8694098 kar@kyreniaanimalrescue.org or Graham Fursman – 0533 8363972

Christmas is all about sharing which is why these swimmers have decided to pool the money that they raise . Why not come down on Xmas morning and support the swimmers and also the 3 Charities.

"Oh, East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,"....
but I was beginning to wonder when I first read the post - I'm glad someone else has noticed...

Oops, sorry I must have got out of bed the wrong side, I had not noticed that I have got my east and west the wrong way around!!

Thank you 'ifonly' for adding the additional information for the other charities for the Shayna Beach Swim (on the EAST side of Girne), I did not have it all to put on.
