Has anybody over 60 tried to get their residency for th first time recently, if so what do you need to do and where do you need to go. I know how quick things change so any information would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

The information on BRS website looks to be correct, the cost is 250TL per person for 1 year.

The only thing that may have changed is the location of the cashiers in the hospital as they have been refurbishing. If it is not where stated (near cafe) go to the floor above using the stairs nearest to the cafe, at the top of the stairs you will see 2 windows over to the left - go to the furthest one to pay(you have to hand over your passport) and then to the next window to be allocated the test location (in the hospital or out to a lab) and get your passport back. You will also receive a receipt which you need to take back to the police station so they can process all your paperwork.
The police station doesn't process applications after noon, so if you get there by about 9.30ish, it should be possible to get the medical tests done and return with the receipt in the same day. I've always found that a Friday is a good day to go.

Correctly or incorrectly İ was under the impression that if you are over 60 you do not need to apply for residency so do you need to apply.

I would rather be safe than sorry for the sake of a couple of hundred lira.

My temp res expired yesterday.
Today I crossed over to the south.
TC Immigration gave my passport an exit stamp without comment or even looking for my last temp res stamp, which they normally do.
On my return an hour later, TC Immigration gave me a 90 entry stamp without comment.
I will return before 90 days for a renewal.

TRNC VAUGHAN,
It has been explained to both my husband and me on seperate occasions at different crossings, that you do not
need to go over the border and get 90 days stamp. You can stay as long as you like once you are over 60 without
a stamp or residency.

I didn't ask for a 90 day stamp but was given it anyway.
I'm not sure if that implies that I need to cross over to renew it before the 90 days is up. Otherwise, why bother to stamp it 90 days?
