Pressure Group for LM Investors

I saw in this weeks Cyprus Observer that someone called Ian asking for all investors to contact him as he has or is putting together a pressure group for all TRNC investors who lost money via LM in Australia.

Has anyone heard of this?

Has anyone joined?

Any info would be greatly appreciated either here or directly via pm.

Why not email the person (Ian) direct and ask for more info? His email is given with the article.

I have, but no harm in asking if anyone else had any experience.

I believe the same article was on Cyprusscene not long ago.

I believe Chris Elliott of Cyprusscene is also now part of the Cyprus Observer which may explain the duplication in information.

I am still interested in anyone's experiences in this pressure group whilst I await a reply from Ian as I don't want it to be a scam.

There is also an article in "Cyprus Today".

I am not comfortable with emailing someone I dont know and know nothing about, and would also be glad to learn anything further anyone knows about this initiative, in the CT article nothing is given about Mr. Luckhurst's qualifications or experience to be "coordinator".

Also the first sentence refers to seeking "expert legal advise on the liability of their advisers" whereas the rest of the article is about a director of the Australian company (and it seems there are plenty of legal experts already involved in that!),

The article also mentions Bond providers including one registered in the Isle of Man and I have also being trying to find further information about Isle of Man financial regs , including the validity of their fees and charges on other aspects of their Bond. Some enquiries in an unrelated issue indicate that some offshore UK financial regs are not as consumer protective as the mainland.

I would like to know more about the objectives of the TRNC group. After all legal advice does not come cheap and in common with most victimsI cant risk throwing good money after bad!

I am guessing that the estimated (stated in the article) TRNC 70 expats who lost their money through the collapse of the LM Fund are also sceptical as it seems none are using this pressure group or if they are they are keeping quiet about it.

Please if anyone has any experience and does not want to post publicly then 'pm' me as Ragged Robin says ' can't risk throwing good money after bad!'
