A shot across the bows of the EU, as Russia and Turkey meet to talk on increasing trade, with the EU presently increasing sanctions against Russia the rouble dropping like a stone due to oil prices falling, Putin needs friends. A good chance for Turkey to stick it fingers up at Brussels and may even prove benifical to the TRNC , trade and recognition from the Ruskies can only help in pushing the EU to get things moving on the cyprob before reunification is a dead duck

It is all a blur to me but TC hubby very dubious. He wonders why Putin wants to buy land in Turkey, the coffee shop gossip says, for nuclear reasons.

AND, russia is a close friend of the greek side, apparently because they buy arms from Russia.

It is a complicated old world.
