Joe, I guess the best answer is that the tanks come in various sizes and varying quality as do the plumbers who fit them ! Last month I had to arrange for a new tank for a neighbour whose house was flooded by a burst tank whilst he was in UK. We used a local plumber who has satisfactory undertaken many plumbing tasks for us and neighbours over the years. He fitted a new half ton tank including a new outer casing plus internal heating unit. He used 2 workers with him and the task took approximately 4 hours as it was necessary to align absolutely accurately the joining of new pipe to old piping. The tank was of good quality and the total cost was 500 TL. I hope this gives you some idea of current prices.

I live on a large site in Tatlisu and have seen several of these tanks replaced. They all seem to have been done by Mr Pipe in Catalkoy. If he wasn't any good I doubt that we wouls see so much of him on site

good luck
Mick
