Thanks Groucho; I'm a woman and I wear size 43 shoes. Don't think of applying to the diplomatic service.

43 for a man is quite small. Small feet, small shoes.

43 is the most popular men's shoe size bar none - it's always the first size to sell out in the shops so I'm not sure your analysis will withstand scrutiny.... because it is de-facto average.

Oh and don't go by the old adage regarding - big feet, big nose or big hands - all that means is big socks, big hankie and big gloves....

Now I've put my big foot in it! Average male size is now a 10 (in UK anyway). In 1970s was an 8.

Not really - As it happens I take anything from 43 -45 depending on how neat the fit is - I'm not in the least bit sensitive about my shoe size... They only need be comfortable... However 'The lady doth protest too much, methinks'

ps "Average male size is now a 10 (in UK anyway). In 1970s was an 8." we are talking feet here?

I was actually joking (not about my shoe size for alas it is true).

And by the by, did you know that the human foot is the same length as the distance between the crook of the elbow and the wrist?

I would qualify this statement with the average human foot is the same length as the distance between the crook of the elbow and the wrist or approximately.... given that most people have one foot slightly longer than the other.

And of course there are those with big feet that are out of proportion with this general 'rule of thumb' (sic)

To start I'd at least need to see a photo as I don't know the name 'Vole' and the internet reveals no clues, I've got no idea what they are like.... apart from men's size 43. I don't want to go see them with no idea what they look like

Adding a photo is simple enough - you just click the upload attachment tab below the message box in which you are typing and browse to find the file on your PC/Tablet whatever and upload it....
