There is an upholsterer on the Alsancak / Lapta border very near Freddies. His workshop is set back a little from the main road.

He speaks quite reasonable English. His name is Ashkin and his number is 0533 823 6901 or 0533 872 5565.

That is the good news.

He charges 1,000tl to do the front seats, etc in proper leather. But it is a perfect job. It takes about 5 days, and of course he needs the car!

Good luck.

PS. I just realised it is you Ozankoyboy. Are you here in Cyprus?

Booked my van seats in with the upholster on the Karaoğlanoğlu industrial estate today for the new year. He came highly recommended. From Girne turn left just before Jashans and second left. My father has been using him for furniture since the 90's.

Agree with snd, this guy made the soft top for our jeep and has also done all cushions on our outdoor furniture , helpful professional and reasonably priced

For people on the east of the Island you might find it useful to know that there is a place in Farmagusta that is very good and charges reasonably if you haggle a bit. He can do full leather seat recovering or, what he did for me, mend and patch an existing damaged seat (this cost about £50)

He is easy to find. Going south into the city on the coast road, you go as far as the 'Mosque' roundabout (the one after the dozens and dozens of student cafes) and turn left. The leather guy is on the LHS at the next T-junction (about 300m from the roundabout). His details are in the card. He speaks enough english to makes things work!

I do not know about cheap??? I had a panel replaced in a damaged seat, matched fabric with original, for £20 by an upholsterer in Burwell Cambs so £50 for similar sounds a bit pricey to me.

May be the patch was bigger or leather you'd need to compare the size and quality of the job before you can start saying it's a bit pricey
