FYI

I booked summer 2015 flights manchester to lca for August .
Paid for and booked in July 14 .
Gets a email is morning " change to flights "
Had to look twice .....times changed from very favourable am leaves arrives back tae time to leaves mid pm arrives back to UK at 2 am .....bad enough when I was reading it now the bombshell

Changed from manchester to Leeds as we are dropping the manchester route .
So change times, change airports ,cost you Incur the parking you Incur .....wow what a industry that is ....tough customer .

Yes I can get a refund and try rebook but what other industry does that ?
Rant over FYI manchester travellers

Well they took my money July 26th in full for August 2015 flights .
If they would have said there's a chance it could change fair enough .
Said nothing ,when I rang the customer service team says we have had some changes in management structure and this was one of the discussions .
So it wasn't just actioned this week .

Terrible service attitude ...tough sh1t big boy was what I got .

Kav

Lucky enough I do work a touch in customer service type environment and do like a challenge when it comes to things like this so will push at least my extra cost incurred for them to meet

Yep Monarch strikes again.

A truly awful airline... absolutely no commitment to customer service.

I feel your pain Kav and decided 2 years ago never to use them again.

Yes have been doing PW .
It is my best option from manchester but naturally prices now have gone up a touch since summer when I booked .

I have to decide the next 48 hrs after penning a tasty email to monarch first with a few home truths ,demands if you like and we will see what happens first there .
Will keep turkish as next option ( used before many times ) far better airline just that 4.30 leave Ercan that is bit nightmare but I suppose home late morning the benefit .

Thanks

If you book online with Turkish you have a choice of flights, we book 11.05am from Manchester and the 9.40 am return you can choose your meal check in 24 hours before flight and choose seats and print off boarding cards..

Yes used it last week or so and I booked early paying just £57 return .
I was impressed and I think if you play by there rules with bags no hidden extras .
I did like the fact they have taken the lead with fixing the seats stopping them to recline hence stooping encroaching into others space behind .

Thanks

We used Jet2.Com twice this year and they were fine. Good prices and flight times. They took over the only truly day slot that Monarch had upto 2013.

Yes I have tried at present they are £440 each return in August flossed .
Turkish are cheaper from manchester to Ercan but there are ups an down on boths .

Monarch have till 5 pm tomorrow to decide if we have a deal based on travel cost and car parking in leeds .
I think I have been fair and in the world of customer service they should meet my costs ,but hey oh they are not great at instant decisions .

Thanks Kav

After call after call and promise of ringing back and they don't I finally get to speak to customer service agents .

Her is the deal .
I live in manchester and wouldn't need car park as this year kids are taking me .
Travelling to Leeds Bradford airport will cost me approximately £40 return.
Car parking a very reasonable £63 for 3 weeks.

I only want this paying ,bear in mind the times and airport have changed at considerable messing me about ....but life's too short and that is what I wanted .
Finally today ......we will pay your fuel or a taxi return but not car park.
My reply car park is cheaper for you .i offer compromise ....instead of it being £103 for me and you just a bit .....let's say a flat fee of £80 and I will include the car park in this ,you hen have no taxi .
No ,was the reply .......ok I now have a bad taste like you are forcing me to take it or leave it ....yes that's right was the reply .

So now I have the chin .....wasnt bad enough moving flight times from arriving back into manchester at tea time to Leeds at 2.30 am I am to play ball.

So I guess a taxi is £150 return and gave them this price ,she says I will put that on your file and that's what we will pay with receipts .
Stumped ....do I f monarch off because simply they have messed me about as a customer as principle .
Do I take the taxi ride and say stuff them I don't care your paying ?( not right though )
Do I take the fuel and pay my eon car park and accept change of airport
Or do I get a full refund and book new flights which may have gone up a touch but I am nearer home ?

Lots to think of in this saga ....monarch ...erm how much advertising to attract one new customer ?
How day to loose a old one that flys a few times per year ,and hoping to have 25 years more doing it ?

...And then get told once returned (even after production of receipts) that "Sorry, whoever told you that did not have the authority to say that; we do not make payments such as these once customers have been pre-advised of flight changes...."

With the drop in oil prices world wide it is being reported that many airline fares will be reduced as a result.
You may find cheaper flights if you cancel and book again.
