Why sign the petition DEBATE

So on a earlier thread there is a sign the petition to save pashwaras children .
Whilst any act of terrorism is horrific I would ask why have a petition, and what good would that do ?
Our thoughts naturally would say oh dear poor children,I would then say in the name of this religion they shot their own for some idiotic reason,
A week which has seen Australia dragged into terrorist attacks simply why ?and the two innocent people murdered that were taken hostage.
The petition should be better served in my view tackling terrorism .
SO SIGN THIS PETITION TO STOP TERRORISM ,would at least make sense, but would it really stop anything?
Do we really care what happens on other shores providing it is never fetched to ours ?
Are we really every country's support function ?
