Can't believe that I had a bill yesterday here in Alsancak for the electric, only 11 days early. Its ok but it makes next months bill a rather larger one, and they will probably fine me for last months bill not being paid yet.

You have 30 days from date that the meter was read to pay your bill - your latest bill will probably show last month's bill too if you haven't paid it yet but you still won't be fined as long as you pay it in time. The new bill will have to be paid by 16th January if the meter was read yesterday.

What I am saying Aylin is that the bill normally comes around the 27th of the month not halfway through the month, 11 days earlier, its not as if they celebrate xmas so why so early,it beats me.

If you read last Saturday C2D you'll see that the Unions run Kibtek and to all intends and purposes their is NO Management. If that is the case then it's the Unions that want to money, for whatever reason. Office Christmas Party, new cars, who knows!!

A little trick Kibtek pull once-in-a-while, but it seems only on the Ex-pats...........They read all the meters but seem to miss you out, and then next month you get more than double your normal bill...why ?
When you check it out, it would seem you only get the discounted reduced rate per KW for only one month not two, so you are paying well over the top.
Not really a problem if you go to their Girne offices and explain as they will re-adjust your bills accordingly.
Just keep checking your bill and watch out if you go over the discounted rate, as it may be caused by an early meter read.

Could this be something to do with the pending reduction in charges due to the oil price? Bill 'em at the high rate before we put the price down?
