Does anyone know if MOT dates for 2015 are available yet ?

Yes they are. Received the list from Trevor at Dagli Sigorta Insurance with his monthly newsletter

If you post the 2 letter part of your reg. I will let you know the dates - I tried posting the table that Trevor sent but it doesn't work.

Here's Trevors list;

but it was last years but proves they do have MOT dates from November to August!
I see mine was due 6/1 so I hope on Friday I am still in the two week window otherwise it will be Happy New Year to the tax office! 5 years ago it was in February so it must go backwards each year.

I knew I should of asked when I was down there on the 19th but I the old list on the board when I was checking for a customer as they think theirs is due and I just thought leave it to the New Year

Just purchased a vehicle late last year....so new to this.

I presume from the 2015 MOT dates that our car does not need MOT in 2015....Reg is GB....presume it will next come round in 2016?

You've got the idea!

A vehicle normally becomes due for it's first MOT 'sometime' in the third year after 'first Registration' - not on the actual third anniversary of 'first Registration', and then three-yearly after that, within the 'date band' published as applicable to vehicles with those registration letters.

For a private vehicle, the relevant section is 'D' - Özel or Private.

The list that was supplied by the insurance chap obviously consisted of just that section, which is why snd1966 couldn't see the date for her commercial vehicle.

As GB wasn't in the 2014 list, and isn't in the 2015 list, you will need to wait until the 2016 list is published, and then look for your letter group to find the date.

New list in pink is on the wall in the tax office. Good news for me mine is from the 15/1 therefore no fine. maybe they tied it up with my driving licence which expires on the same day!

How bizarre! Our tax was due in April last year now it's not due until October - not like tax offices to give you more for your money!

Just found this on government site that had dates last year and it is VERY different to the previous list shown on here - I think this is more likely as ours was April last year and this shows April again this year.

Spyder, there aren't ANY privately owned vehicle registrations shown as due in April this year - is yours a commercial vehicle?

- Or, if yours is a registered as a Private vehicle, are you looking at section (D) ?

Tax is different to MOT
Tax should be paid within the following month of expiry
MOT should be paid and checked in the fortnight on the list . Top part is commercial and bottom is private cars

It is a twin cab but has been registered for private use as it is not a work car. I think we'll call into the tax office to double check and see if we can get a copy of the official list from them for this year. We don't want anyone paying fines - it costs enough as it is

Oh brother! It gets worse! JC is on TWO lists but as the car is classed as a pickup I'm assuming it will be April even though it is registered as private so should be October!! lol Confused???

I am assuming you have only purchased it; commercial are MOT'ed every year and private every 3 years therefore the existing MOT may give you a clue but the only way is to ask the tax office to write the dates on the existing MOT when its due. Private road tax seems to be more too
