Help - how to play music on Galaxy tab?

Bought himself a new Samsung Galaxy tab for Christmas but cannot play music on it! Can open my Amazon account which shows all the music we have purchased & it says it is playing but it is not. It plays the Samsung track which is already loaded so the audio is working ok.
Amazon says the tracks will appear in the downloads file but they are not there, have also downloaded Amazon Apps but no success.
This is driving me mad, can anyone offer any advice please?
