Live yogurt which you get in the UK, is really good for the stomach. But was just wondering if the Turkish yogurt is live yogurt or just normal yogurt. Two valley yogurt which you get in the UK is live yogurt.

Being "1940" evacuee in the countryside, the farmer wife used to make her own yogurt and I used to have it as a treat., those were the good old days. nothing beats home-made food
I would suggest you talk to the locals "where to find best cultured yogurt". A lot of locals make their own, I have tasted some yogurt, and it certainly better than the mass produced UK yogurt. The home-made stuff is full of good bacteria without a doubt, good for the tummy "guts". people who suffer from bloating, cramps and any indigestion related issues are advised by the health experts to eat natural yogurt made with live/ cultured bacteria. Natural and effective remedy.
If you use your charm you may get lucky and offered few taster tubs, Cypriots love to see expats or others taste their home-made stuff and appreciate their local products.
As for the yogurt you find in shops, I suggest you read the label and check the yogurt is 100% natural "village yogurt" which is "Koy yogurt". No harm in trying various makes until you find the one that appeals to your taste buds and your belly
all the best

I do not know what "live" yogurt is. For stomach problems I was recommended years ago to eat Sheep (koyun) Yogurt (with other words not the one made out of cow milk) in the morning before eating something else. It helped indeed and I am still following it.
I personally can recommend two brands (both are clearly marked as "Halil Koyun Yogurdu"), namely
- CAMLIKOY
- YUSUF
On the "Lapta" side you can buy both at the Ya Beles Vegetable Market in Alsancak at the coastal road. Yusuf Yogurt is also available at some supermarkets and the Wednesday Market in Girne. Camliköy brand sometimes in other markets as well.
You may find more infos about sheep yogurt in the internet.
