It was just full of the same people ready to 'jump' on anyone who dared to ask a question, resulting in them (me included) to refrain from posting.

Good question, I was missing hearing about what's going on in TRNC, but now that I've found this forum wont miss 44 at all. I tend to agree with other posts, that some of the people posting appeared to be hell bent on making it an unpleasant place to communicate. Here's hoping this forum will be better

Please don't tolerate it Soner. 44 was such a negative place and there seemed to be a group that was hellbent on putting people down. Don't let it spoil your forum.

to be fair, Cyprus 44 was terrific at one stage (well, for a long time) and had lots of active members, and i for one made connections with many people . I even visited two couples whilst in Australia that I met on Cyprus 44. But sadly towards the end it went pearshaped, and as some people were so keen on getting across their points, they kept reinventing themselves . I think there has to be a way in which that cannot happen here. some kind of positive means of identifying people. I am not a super techno, but Soner is!
Ihope we can be a Forum Family who care for each other whilst respecting what may prove to be differences of opinion.. as they say 'it is not what you say,- it's the way that you say it.'

It appears Soner is already clearing up the membership. He says on another thread that he was clearing up the 'bots' between 2.30 and 4.00am!!

Agree. Conscientious is one word to describe Soner, and another just might be 'Insomniac'!

Lets hope we stick with real members who want a good forum. And not end up with the double Ids.

Having posted on Cyprus 44 a few times I have to say I was pleased in the end that it was finally closed. A simple question especially re property always resulted in more than its fair share unhelpful comments and people with their own agenda's.

Really hope that this forum will be known as a place that provides good, helpful constructive advice, feedback or recommendations.

Missing 44 - yes, like you miss toothache! I got to the stage when I read and marvelled at some of the vitriol that was poured out! Lets us hope this one continues on the way it has started! I have been using Cyrpus44 since purchasing two years ago and used it occassionly to help me network with people in the know.

It was stressful at times feeling the bubbling anger of some. On the whole I did find it very useful as the majority of good people did support me and offered me sound advice. The hard part was sifting the unhelpful comments and one liners from those tring to get more stars for their post.

I was shocked when I logged into Cyrpus44 this morning to find that it had closed and was at a loss as to how I'm going to network in the future.

Thankfully good old Google helped me find you all. I was straight on to register and I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Thank you so much to the owners of KIBCOM for setting this up and helping people like me who need the secuity of knowing that there are like minded people out there to help.

So glad that people withnice names like Cherry Blossom are coming over to sunny Kibkom. Ihope this does become a 'sunny' forum where light can be thrown on things, and no dark side creeping in. So far I am getting good vibes from everyone, and I am sure it will stay that way. I have already seen on one of the new forums that some 'dirty' is creeping in - raising old issues - but soner is on the ball enough to ensure it doesn't happen here.

Welcome cherryblossom I think you will find that this forum is like 44 used to be. Full of friendly helpful people, and becoming more interesting as we gain more members. Soner is very approachable and always open to suggestions. I hope you will enjoy

Tell you what I DO miss and that is finding on people's profiles who they are an more details so i can contact them direct. It is good to know whois who. Where tere is a picture, then it is obvious, and it is good that soner has set up an e mail messagesystem,but I reallywould like toknow who is who. Maybe I am just too nosey. But I do miss that.

lets hope as all these forums grow non of that creeps in.

44 helped us in our decision to move here.

Marion you are a lovely lady always so positive in a genuine way. No you are not nosey but just in case have updated my profile. The old C44 never felt quite so relaxed and pleasant.

I think Soner has a lot to do with it. If you have a problem or don't understand something he does not make you feel an idiot for asking. Quite the opposite.

thanks Mel for saying lovely things, but I honestly believe you are right, and that soner is the main reasn for the 'goodness' of the forum. I also think we need to trust each other, and I suppose I want to know who I am trusting!!!!
I already know some of the people from before, like Loose Boots, but hopefully all will be revealed when we have our meeting in July! Unless of course everyone turns up in Venetian masks.
