Ever since 2.2.2 Café Dukkan has stood on the corner of the street and has had its fans, supporters who have watched it grow and develop and now it is gone.

But not totally gone. Emel Kisi's sons in law have opened Templos Villaigo at Zeytinklik (the former Ottoman restaurant on the right hand side of the road just befxoreyou ge tinto Zeytinlik coming along form Lemar (old Astro) in town and past the brightly coloured school on the left. You can see what Templos ~Villagio is all about on their Facebook page.

This is evenings on ly AND THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT DAY TIME IS THE OLD CAFE DUKKAN MENU.

From 9a.m,. to around 3p.m. the old menu of favourites is available.

AND EVEN MORE GOOD NEWS, today Saturday at 3p.m. Emel is holding a Cocktail Party to which old and new friends are invited, to take a look at the place the menu etc, etc

So if today you are around town and with time to spare why not pop along.

As I say, details are on the Facebook page of Tem,plos Villagio.

Might see you here, then!!!

I used to love Café Dukkan. It was such a convenient place to meet people being just a few yards from the water roundabout. There was something really continental about it. Have to admit it was never quite the same after the "dukkan" bit closed down.

And the good news to Sophie and others is that Emel Kisi and family are expec ting to re-open the coffee shop when the building is complete and up and running. The plan looks nice and it will be a four/five storey tall building, with a coffee shop in the same spot as the original Café Dukkan.

The cocktail party today was superb with offerings of all the foods/mezes that will be on offer from now on.

It will be a fab venue for the summer (pretty O.K. now) and it was great seeing many of the customers of Café Dukkan there, and to have guest speakers including Dr Sibel. When I asked her how confident she was about the forthcoming elecitons she said 100% and spoke of Women Powe.r She is such a delightful person that even if she does not get elected (and how could I think that!!!!) she is doing much for politics and the role of women in politics. Very encouraging.

Just wish I could vote. but she did offer hope that the White Paper which is to be discussed this month on citizenship should become a living reality later in the yea.r Jokingly I said 'Christmas' because one is so aware here that at election times everything goes on ice!

And to Sophie, it is not really far out of Girne to go to Tem,plos Villagio, - give it a whirl and meet some friends there for lunch. PLUS SHE OFFERS THE SAME TAKE AWAY /DELIVERY MENU AS BEFORE, AND ALL THE ITEMS FORM café dUKKAN ARE AT THE SAME PRICES (FOOD, THAT IS0|.

(sorry, caps stuck!!!!)
