Washing machine went bang last week.
Needs repairing.
Is there a local Beko repair agent (Alsancak) or do I have to call engineer fromKyrenia or Nicosia?

Have always used the BEKO dealer in Girne, part of Levent I think and may be the main dealers. They have come promptly and on time and usually been surprisingly inexpensive. Not sure about washing machines though they are a mystery to me.

Can't get them to answer the phone. Can you confirm the number, please?

I'm sure there tens of thousands (if not mjillions) of perfectly content and satisfied Beko customers around the world. If they are as bad and dangerous as you say, then they would have gone bust over night.

Boeing had a problem with "fire" on their dreamliner batteries, will not stop me getting on a Boeing. A lot of the time because of incidents companies then put their systems under closer scrutiny and Beko are probably safer as a result. Besides that they manufacture for many other high street brands.

Yes I would agree they all have faults and often fix them .
The beko came under particular bad press a year or so ago when they hit the watch dog problem in the UK.
I think recently a court case has attributed a house fire to a applicants .

Like all these cases though there can be outside factors or over load on poor electrical wiring etc .

When it comes down to it all manufacturers have often 3 appliances or brands in each sector made in different places to corner a market .

But if you have a fire as a result th pen you change a tune .
Nice one Jonnie .....would you fly with Malaysia airlines though ?

I would not have an issue with Malaysian, I have flown on Cubana and American which have the worst accident ratings. It would be like saying I will not travel on railways or the tube because they have had accidents.

Beko is part of the arcelic group of companies, Turkish brand.
Fact, they have a poor record for fires and deaths due to their appliances, fridges, dishwashers ect.
Google Beko safety record.
Their products are cheap but this can come at a price.
I would rather pay more for a brand that I felt was safe and should their be a problem would highlight it as soon as possible.
No doubt there are a lot of satisfied customers out there but until their record improves I will not be one of them

Any manufacturer can have serious problems with their products. Beko's track record is bad!
Maybe there are worse on the market but I am not aware of any that are sold on the u.k.market.
Consumers are atracted by low prices that is a fact, but would you buy a Chinese car?
Death traps, they fail all European safety standards.
Price is not the most important thing for me.
