How do you roast your "Nuts"?

Simple question.
Of course I am referring to your "Chestnuts"
I put a few in a small foil container, the ones you might use if you make too much chilli con carne, etc.
Then put that on top of my log burner.
Delicious and healthy.
How do you roast yours?

I roasted mine in the oven they were lovely and easy to peel.

Cut a cross in the shell , roast directly on top of log burner , turn once, mm mm mm

I will never roast my nuts on fire, burner or on any other "hot gadget"
my "Nuts" are toooo valuable to be roasted

Cut the ends so that the hot steam can escape then 30 seconds in the microwave - maybe a tad longer if they are large.

Yeah, I've done that when I've been desperate for mi' nuts
I do quite like the extra flavour that you get from roasting 'em though...

They roast easily in the oven if you cut a cross on the flat side top shelf 200deg in a fan oven 15mins tops.

On the log burner, but check them carefully and break the chestnut open before popping in your mouth - a lot of roasted maggotts in the ones i have had this year!!
