Highlight the Turkish Text (Ctrl + A OR hold down the left mouse button while dragging the cursor over all the text)
Copy it to clipboard (Ctrl + C)
Open a new TAB in your Browser (Ctrl + N)
Go to Google Translate (this may automatically open a new TAB for you...)
Set the left-hand side 'Language choice' to Turkish, and check that the Right-hand side choice is set to English
Paste the Turkish text into the box on the left (Ctrl + V) & the English translation will appear on the right.

Hi Keith, I am a Chrome user now after many years on Firefox. I now have the option to translate built in and when I get an email in Turkish I can translate it to English with one click. Don't know how I got that option but I also have the Google Translate App on my bookmarks at the top of the screen - loaded it from the App's (many small squares) symbol on the Google search page so maybe that has done it all for me.

Sadly when I got my Turkish email from MM late last night I opened it on my phone and there is no translate package on that so did not see it till just now!

Hoping that Owl lady is also using Crome then it will be easy for her.

So am I, but I don't know if Owl Lady is - she is not computer-literate, and I just couldn't see her installing a new Browser!

Guess I am the closest then!! Installing the new browser is easy, just a couple of clicks - its the hard work afterwards that causes all the problems and if you are not computer literate at all it is best to leave well alone and stick with what you know. Have managed to change a few people over but the phone calls at 11 at night because they can't find things make me want to throw my phone away and join the "How do you switch on the monitor" brigade again - lol.
Problem with ctrl A is that it takes everything and that can be a problem for some people. I have been trying to teach people about copy/cut/paste because once they understand that simple (although old style) technique most problems are solved. Strange how it is that no matter how modern the equipment is, the old ways are the best to learn to start with because then you can change over to the new ways with some understanding of how/why/what happens. Its wonderful to teach the local kids this and then a couple of weeks later they pop round to show me how to do it properly with short cuts and things - just got to nod and say thanks!!!
Now gone over to Linux and my head hurts more each day - lol.

Personally I find a bi lingual friend and ask them 'what does this say ?' No computer expertise required.

Erol, that's cheating!!! Then again, you with all your computer savy at your finger tips, if you find that the easy way to do it maybe we are all just "gwastraffu ein hamser", as they say in Welsh according to Google - lol.

Owl Lady, come on, tell us which browser (that's the thing you use to get on the Internet with) do you use??? Just love a challenge to see if I can make things easy.

I was going to suggest that , but I have used Google Translate , which sometimes makes "howlers". Is this one more accurate?

BTW if you use a translator its a good idea to transfer the procedure and translate back, then if the English version does not come out right you can check with an old fashioned dictionary or "call a friend".

Internet Explorer!!!! That's why so many problems then - lol. Bet you just love the automatic upgrades, even if you don't want them. Each to their own, good luck and a job well done on the E-mail by the way.

That may explain why you cant get BBC Owl Lady. I had to change from Internet Explorer to Google chrome because I was told the former did not "support" the BBC. Had to get a friend to help, but it was worth it.

The trouble with "cut and paste" is that having learned how to do it, you really need good eyesight and nimble fingers to operate it, and the "Techies" who design these things don't realise that not all pensioners are so lucky. And at this time of year some of us just have fingers numb from the cold. And if you learnt touch typing on a manual machine , its instinct to rest your fingers on the keys and on a pc that results in chaos

Owl Lady if you want me to demonstrate cut and paste or how to contact BBC phone or pm me - a bit of a case of the blind leading the blind but because I learned more recently I may be able to explain in ordinary English! Need to use my pc though,, I wouldnt trust myself not to muck up someone else's settings.
