A day in the life of MM support

So we mistakenly sent a Turkish language version of an email about upcoming Multimax package changes to a number of English speaking customers. The English version had already been sent to our English language customers but by mistake when we sent out the Turkish language version to our Turkish speaking customers some English speaking customers were also included in the list. Mistakes do happen. The vast majority of English speaking customers who replied did so perfectly politely and perfectly reasonably requesting that we send it in English. Some were a bit more 'abrupt' and some were amusing, to me at least, in their own ways. Anyway here is a small section of some of the replies we got.

Some of the more 'abrupt' included
English please, this is not acceptable
I CAN NOT READ TURKISH
Why send me promotions in Turkish when you know I am English!!!!!
Some of the more 'ironic' include
Kindly resend in English please I do not infefxtand snu of this?
Thank for the email as I said the other day I not Turkish but English and I can read Turkish
Здравствуйте, сейчас я не могу вам ответить, оставьте сообщение.
And one of the 'sweetest' includes
I am so sorry my turkish is not good enough to understand
Please send in English Thanks xx
With Love, Light & Laughter

I have sent it to you just now and yes I can see why you did not get it automatically in either Turkish and English and have rectified that for any future such mails.

Thanks

I use googlemail, somewhere in settings is a tick box which automatically translates any Turkish emails I get into English ..
When I opened the email it was in Turkish .. Then hey presto it turned to English ..
Perhaps some computer whiz kid can tell how to do this ..

I received the Turkish email, but was not upset because I had already received the email in English.

Erol, I once did a similar thing sending an e-mail to my deputy telling him exactly what I thought of my boss - sadly it was sent to 4,000 customers and I only managed to stop just under 3,000 of them by using the call back system we had just installed - my boss was not one of the ones I managed to call back!!! He did see the funny side of it eventually but it took me a long time to explain how we needed to send out a "Spoof" message to test the new call back system!!! Never have been sure if he really believed me after all.

Hello Erol,
As of this morning on the BBC IPlayer website there is a new message coming up about downloads only being available in the UK, So is it now necessary to use the MM VPN for such downloads?

Also on another matter, I sent Kemal an e-mail 10 days ago, could you do me a favour and ask him to send me a reply please.
Kind Regards
Nick Esentepe

I hope not as Erol was not able to get the free VPN working on my computer!

Currently the auto VPN for BBC is not working as you have discovered. We are working on getting it restored as soon as we can and in the mean time yes you can just use the manual VPN.

I would need the email address the email was sent from and even then I could only pass your message on to Kemal , who will see it himself here anyway.

99% of the time I receive English from MM. (thanks guys) But slightly off topic - I've been asking Garanti bank for 4 years now if it is possible to send English texts rather than Turkish and every time I go into the Bank, they amend something on their screen and say "English now" - never received an English text to this day!! I'm sure I'm missing out on the odd benefit or two. With their facilities it must be possible to do what they say they will do?
