Why Multimax was down for 3 hours in Esentepe area...

For those of you who are interested, we had our main communication tower for the area knocked down by accident by a caterpillar(JCB 3CX heavy duty machinery, not the insect ).

Had a lot of physical damage on our antennas and equipment by impact, the tower itself was also slightly damaged.

We had 3 teams on site, with all spare equipment including a spare tower delivered from Lefkosa within 90minutes of incident.

We have eventually opted to re-erect the existing tower with the help of a excavator provided by Carrington Construction, and replaced/repaired all necessary equipment and parts and everything was back operational in less than 3 hours.

By mistake, or by accident?

That is, did it knock the tower down deliberately, mistaking it for something that it intended to demolish, or did it just 'bump into it' accidentally and unintentionally?

Thanks Keith. Replaced 'by mistake' with 'by accident' in original message to clarify.

You made me laugh because when I first read it I was thinking of the insect not the machine caterpillar. Well done for fixing it so quickly.

I would also like to sing the praises of Multimax. Had a problem yesterday, no internet connection. Thought it might be the weather so left it til afternoon to contact Multimax. They said they could not promise an engineer that afternoon. Said fine, no probs. Engineer came mid afternoon, nice chap. Checked it out and said it was the cable running through the house.......needed to be replaced. Then a downpour started, so we told the young man, not to worry come back tomorrow. Didn't want him out working in the rain. He turned up first thing this morning with his mate......job done, I now have the internet back........and new cable threaded through the electrical system, which is no mean feat, and needs 2 to do it. Charged 30tl........now that's what I call service. Thanks Multimax, you really do understand how to keep your customers happy.
