My grandaughter recently gave me her old iphone 4s in UK just before our journey back here. Now i find it is still locked to Orange UK - can anyone recommend anywhere here that can unlock it at a reasonable price. Very warey about using the unlock online sites as there seems to be quite a lot f bad reviews - unless you know of a tried and tested one.

Had same problem last year most telephone shops here unlock them at a price ie 200tl so I took mine back to England backstreet unlocker £25 so you make your own choice.

They unlocked 4 iphone 5's for me two where locked to Vodafone one to orange and one on EE.

Took a few days but they all worked and now accepts ANY sim.

I had one unlocked a couple of weeks ago ..
Down Mushroom St on the right hand side is a double fronted watch shop ..
A few metres further down on the left hand side is a phone shop ..
Cost was 100TL & took a day ..

100TL sounds a good price especially if it is £25 in UK anyway.

Be careful there are two types of unlock jailbreak and apple unlock which is permanent first thing to do is go ebay and for about £1.50 there are sites will check your phone by you giving the imei nuber and tell you if it is blacklisted or blocked. If so there are only a few sites will be able to unlock it if it's ok it's not too expensive and varies with providers. Apple is best as you get all the upgrades and a lot of things are not available on jailbreak. Also if a relative has given you this when their contract has ended it just requires them to contact their provider and ask for the unlock code which they must provide.

Ifonly Mushroom St, is down the main street to cross roads and it is the street on the RHS before the cross roads. parallel to the one down to Ataturk statue. Used to have bollard that looked like toad stools or mushrooms to stop parking!!

Down the high st & it is right at the 1st cross roads ..
He quoted 120 TL .. So haggle ..

The name, the street of mushrooms was used about 15 years ago as the council put up these concrete bollards like mushrooms to stop cars parking on the pavement.
It is now the street of trees, we had our first restaurant in this street 20 years ago, great memories as some of our readers will remember.

Thanks everyone for the info - love the explanation of "Mushroom St" . Family in UK are going to contact Orange - but if that fails (because she is no longer an existing customer) then i know where to go.

It does not matter if she is still with Orange as long as there is no probs with her account they are bound to give her the unlock code.
