Walking over the South

Crossing over at Lokmaci today on the GC side passports are being inspected & passed through a reader when passing in both directions . Hold up of about 20 mins in both directions (that is on a quiet day!). Usual abrupt non smiling policemen there instructing you which window to go to & woe betide you if you just go to a different window to which told

Bit of a painthat! Crossing is usually very easy here - let's hope its just one of their little 'purges'.
(We had something at Pile-Beyarmudu a couple of years ago, its usually a very relaxed crossing (I've even seen officers sipping Zivania in the booths!), but on this occasion Senior Officer's appeared to be present, so they were making everyone open car boots, looking under cars with a mirror etc. The following day no 'brass' present and back to normal service.

Scanning passports today at metehan, withheld passport till car insurance done and shown,but was quicker than normal.

Ah the GC's are putting border controls in place where they claim there is no border !!!

Drove over at Metahan this morning around 10am , same as normal cursory glance at passports (GC side) and waved through but on the return TC customs officer having a good look into cars and asking me to open the boot.
