Hi there has anyone spotted proper porridge oats in any of the supermarkets? Not Readybrek. I bought something from Illeli that is definitely not the right thing !

The ones that I buy are from a company called ETI Lifalif. The Turkish name for rolled oats is Yulaf Ezmesi. This kind are in a 500 gram soft pack and I find them very good.

Well, I've had Mornflake Oats from Ileli, and they make perfectly good porridge as far as I'm concerned...

I haven't looked for about a week, but Tempo at Catalkoy had Scotts, Mornflake oats and another brand, whose name escapes me right now.

It depends what oats you like, some are big and some are more minced up. In England I used to buy TESCO organic, they were the big kind, looks just like a whole flattened grain.
And 'agobard' I agree, the Turkish ones -Eti's 'lifalif yulaf ezmesi' are just like it and very tasty. Takes a little longer to cook, but it's worth it.
And the best thing for me is, that I can buy them here in Dipkarpaz!!!!!

Gilly 123, Mornflake produce an Oatmeal which you may have picked up.
Their website on Keith's response says it can be used to make porridge but probably best for your Gran who could eat it through a straw!!! I use it for stews and black pudding.
What did catch my eye on their website was chilli chocolate porridge.
Must give it a try!!!!!!!

Yeah... I do find that oats make your G&T go a bit gloopy...

Used to be able to get Jordans porridge oats last winter in 2 grades - normal for quick porridge and coarser grade which is possibly closer to the type the person posting is looking for. Sadly, this year they aren't anywhere to be found.

Hmmm....

I think that you might have to put a whole lemon in each one . Image

Of course, you could always drink wine instead, - I'm sure that GRAPES count!
