Condominium Laws

Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me if there are similar 'condominium' laws to the ones in Turkey?

In Turkey site residents committees can apply to the courts to have the property seized, sold and the debts paid from the sale.

if these laws don't apply how can sites get money from persistent long term non-payers?

Thanks

Rosie

Hi, In TRNC the 'Floor Ownership and Floor Easement Law' is the one that applies.

It is far from being a simple matter to sue for non-payment of fees, there being several pre-conditions which must be met.

If you don't know anything about this, then you would be well advised to seek qualified, uninvolved, legal advice.

What site / development are you on, as a matter of interest? If you don't want to state it publicly, feel free to 'PM' me - I will respect your wish for confidentiality.

Hello Keith,

Thanks very much for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a feeling that there was some sort of law but I had no idea what it was called.

I've googled it and had a good read of it-not exactly bedtime reading but so useful.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply to my query.

Cheers

Rosie

Rosie.
The problem in the TRNC is the delaying tactics the locals can use in law which is in their favour, resulting in a long legal battle which will cost thousands in legal fees. The odds are stacked against you from the start but I do wish you luck.
