I have been paying 80TL monthly with MM but just informed it has now risen to 110tl a month thats one hell of an increase and that its now not unlimited access and drops to 2gb after about 4 hrs of watching tv unless I heard it wrong? The monthly cost was 850tl or 550tl for 6 months?
Any idea what other providers are charging?

I think we are always shocked when prices go up, 30tl £8.57 at todays rate.
Unfortunately Kemal probably can't employ many people on minimum wage 360tl a week! I know when I was in the computer world I was paid a lot more than people 4 or 5 grades higher than me in other departments. He also has to keep his equipment up to date to keep the high standards he seems to try and offer. And last but not least Cyprus is so small there are just not enough people to be able to offer deals he would probably love to give.
Even on minimum wage 27,948tl (KDV +social) has to be created a year per member of staff therefore 1320tl a customer does not go far. When I took the time to work it out I realise why people actually have to exaggerate their services to make sure they get every possible available person and I would love to see a set of genuine accounts as I believe bosses must heavily invest in their own businesses to survive.

This has been discussed here previously. For info have a look at this thread and particularly post number 2 in this thread by Kemal.

I am with 'Real Net' in alsancak and the prices are reasonable for us.
12 months (1gb) 600tl + 3 months free (15 months you get)
3 months (1gb) 180tl + 1 month free (4 months you get)
There are different packets, also with more gb etc too
After 1 month we are deciding to change to adsl to give them a try to save money.
Unlimited internet 4gb speed + phone line 50tl each month.

Kibris online are advertising an ADSL 8, yes EIGHT Mb package. I believed ADSL in TRNC only reached 4mb!
They are quoting 440TL for 12 months for those lucky enough to have a landline.
MM stopped ADSL packages some time ago.
However, no one can supply any sort of customer service with ADSL as you are dependent on a Government Public Service. I laugh at the thought of ringing the Telekom Department at 9pm and expect them to speak English and even acknowledge I exist, or I have a problem, Or I expect some attempt at a solution!

But their new manager at communications has been exceptionally helpful when the agent and isp both said it was a communication problem. after 10 days all sorted through investigation and asking for a computer person to come to the house. Oh and it was not a communication problem! Long may it continue

re ADSL;
You cannot get any assistance from Telekom weekdays beyond 3pm.
You cannot get any assistance from Telekom after 3pm on Friday until Monday morning.
If your line generates problems, Internet Provider (ISP) cannot diagnose the issue as we do not have access to any port information. We can only check if a customer is online or not. Whenever a problem happens on customer side, the only thing an ISP can do is to contact Telekom (only M-F 9am-3pm) or send someone to check from client side but this is very costly and ISPs must try to avoid unnecessary visits to stay profitable.
It may take days, sometimes weeks for Telekom people to visit you if you have line problems.
Multimax has decided some time ago that providing this level of service is unacceptable and stopped selling ADSL. We provide 7 days a week, 365 days a year customer support and our field engineers are only off on sundays + 5 days in a year (1st Jan and first 2 days of each Bayram).
Also, as opposed to ADSL where 8Mbit is the absolute maximum, Multimax customers already get more than 10Mbit, yes TEN, speeds ON AVERAGE (some lucky customers receive in excess of 40Mbits).
You can pay 600TL for a 1Mbit 'real' connection or pay 850TL to Multimax and get 10x of that on average, possibly more.
As with ADSL, it may or may not work for you, and thats only comes into play if you are lucky enough to have a phone line in the first place.
My personal opinion is that if you stop supporting sub-standard services, you would be helping the whole sector as it would force those provider either out of business so create more room for proper providers or make them to work harder to provide their customers with better service. In the end, everybody wins.
K.

It cost us 20tl for someone to come and reset the router which we had taken in for the parameters to be checked to both the isp and the people who take the money. Admittedly the service level is extremely frustrating as you are dealing with 3 different companies and as you correctly state no cover evenings, holidays or weekends

Still not sure the beef with MM's prices stacks-up. 15mb is only 850t p.a.= only 70.83tl per month.... not sure why the need to pay monthly but you have to understand that MM have to have the kit and pay for their access too....and they can't afford to take the hit on currency fluctuations and pay the extra admin costs on their margins.
Considering everything that is possible with MM (free VPN, unlimited access during off-peak etc.) it has to be the biggest bargain on Cyprus.

I had an issue with MM recently. Phoned up and they checked a few things and decided it was my cable from the roof, which to be honest is 8 or 9 years old. Came that day fixed it and back online. A friend in the UK has been waiting a week to get her broadband back on.
I am more than happy with MM, consistently great service and probably about the same as I was paying 8to9 years ago for 512K from Extend

If prices have gone up now should the banner at the top change?

Well, maybe he thinks that I'm a little too 'off the WALL' - talking of which, here's my self cleaning wallpaper system after finishing a self wash cycle and now going into the final spin air dry

There is no price increase in Multimax packages. We have discontinued old packages and introduced new ones. There are more changes to package details than just the price change.
Details and current advertised rates can be found at

Hi Kemal,
Please clarify prices as the ad banner on Kibkom yesterday (now disappeared) stated 749TL but your website states 850TL.
thanks

Kibkom banner ad belonged to MM15MAX and MM20MAX packages, priced 749TL and 999TL respectively. They are discontinued as of Jan 19th 2015 and are no longer available.
Current Multimax packages are MM Gold and MM Platinum packages, priced 850TL and 1100TL respectively.
As I have previously stated, old are new packages are not the same.
More details on current packages are on
