Unfortunately there is a major fire in progress at Siba Chemicals on the seaside of the main coast road just after HomeEssentials. This is a severe chemical fire that has spilled over to wasteland. If you are down wind of the smoke then you are advised to close all of your windows/doors etc. Although there is very little wind at the moment you are well advised to keep an eye out for any change in wind direction and take the necessary precautions.

Thanks for the info, AJay, we saw the fire and heavy smoke, and wondered what it was. Obviously not a bushfire but something chemical or rubber, so good to find out what was going on. It took ages to get extinguished.
