Was looking forward to lunch at Sirinyali again but when we tried to book she has 45 booked already so no chance
We went last Sunday & it was fantastic.
So can anyone suggest a Sunday lunch on the West side that does 'proper' roast meat from a joint rather than the sort of sliced almost preformed sort ?? We don't usually go for these here & friends would like one so really need some help here. Thanks in advance.

The Black Olive in Alsancak do a nice Sunday roast every other Sunday, but you have to book as Vicki also gets fully booked very quick, 05338355133. Very nice family and you help yourself as its all put on your table, you should give it a try.

We went to Freddy's Bar last Sunday - very tasty. I think it was either 22 or 23TL for main and dessert. Choice of Pork,Beef (or bit of both) - roast pots, peas, carrots, cauli, yorkie then choice of crumble or cheesecake. We didn't book.
Also Acmenya is very popular for their Sunday Lunch - starters, main roast meal, help yourself to dessert, brandys and coffee - but it does get very busy.
Enjoy.

Went to Sirilyali in Karsiyaka just once (if that's the place you are referring to) Dreadful place, dirty floors, tables that looked is they had come from a works canteen. We were asked to hang on to our knives and forks after first course, so they could save washing up. Prawn cocktail that had 6 shrimps served on a tiny weenie little plate, soup that was served with a HUGE chunk of bread BUT NO PLATE. Cannot say anything complimentary about it at all. Left as soon as we could. Dreadful.

We went to Sirilyali for lunch today, I don't know when you last went Sophie but it was nothing like that. The food was excellent, the service was top notch and the place was spotless clean, warm and welcoming, you ought to give it another try, I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Went to the Black Olive yesterday for Sunday lunch, excellent food and service, nothing is ever to much for Vicki and her staff, Would recommend it to everyone, you would not be disappointed, all the food is freshly made and put on your table so you can just help yourself, a good selection of traditional puddings, you do need to book though as she gets very busy.

I think it was the second Sunday they had been open. There were 5 of us and we all admitted the meat was real "meat" but the portions were absolutely tiny (BTW I don't like my food piled high, so we weren't being greedy in any way) Desserts were served on tiny plates as well, it just wasn't pleasant at all. We did admit that if they were to spend some money on it, buy better quality cutlery (what we were presented with was awful) and glassware, plus some more crockery it might be OK. Might give it another try one day.

Hi Sophie, you say you went the " second week" it was open. Are you talking about recently, or some time ago? I do not believe this has been open very long under the current management, who moved from another venue. I have not been, but have heard only good reports about it currently!
