Asking for advice before selling!

Mods, please do not move this to the For Sale section as I am trying to find out information before I put things up for sale on behalf of a friend. This may explain why:

My friends partner died last year and left her with a workshop full of "Things". Best described as engineering tools, two lathes and a milling machine - whatever that is. I am not an engineer in that field and can not even identify some of the "Things" but wonder if there is anyone out there who would know where to sell such items. I can provide photo's via email as that is easy for me but I can not tell you exactly what the "Things" are for. I can tell you that one of the lathes is called a Myford Super 7 because that is what is on it.

Any help would be a bonus, many thanks.

Thank you, good idea for tools but these lathes are BIG, like ton's of steel. The milling machine must stand 2 mtrs tall when all together - not for the DIY person I think?

Thanks, going to take pictures tomorrow and the "Hawk the wares" around the various "engineering" workshops. The biggest problem will be in shifting them from where they are - one even comes with its own pallet truck to move it around on. Never been faced with something like this before and don't want her to loose out so being as careful as I can. There are boxes and boxes of bits like digital micrometers and "Things" you put into lathes to cut other things with - if there ever was an engineering "Deep End" then I find myself firmly in it at the moment!!!

My other half served his apprenticeship as a Centre Lathe Turner he will know what is what. We are here until 6th March if you want him to look at the "Things"

Re my request for help, I was just wandering through the News section and found this: http://trncbazaar.com/categories.php?

Just in case anyone missed it, I think it will be a great help to me anyway.

chiangbill - WOW. Have just had a quick look through those before going out for lunch! There must be thousands of pounds worth of "Things" in his workshop - I had no idea whatsoever - now the headache is even bigger than before. Thank you for this information.

Maybe worth a visit to the industrial estate in Karagolangoulu, at the top on the back road is a engineering workshop who may be interested, his name is Sied.

Yes. i don't think these are for DIYers. I would definitely get lot's of advice on these lathes first.

Bringing back memories to Hubby he worked on Lathes from the age of 15 making parts for Locomotives built by Vulcan Foundry Newton-le-Willows, worked 35 years in Engineering, lathes were computerised a few years before he finished, depending on how old these Lathes are would determine the value. He would love to take a look at them Waddo.
