Does anyone know if buses run from East of Esentepe to Girne and if so how frequently. Info for someone thinking of moving out that way but won't have a car.

Suggest contact with Tatlisu Beli (sorry - do not have the telephone number), but there are good English speaking and helpful/co-opertive people there. Personally, I would suggest to the 'someone' that living some 50+ kms east of Girne, a car is an essential, not a nice to have. Otherwise, he/she/they will go stir crazy confined to just a small area.

There are 2 buses that I know of, that come from Famagusta over the new mountain road and travel through Kucuk Erenkoy along the coast past our development which is just east of Esentepe. They are at 07.30am and 13.30pm. If your friends need to rely on buses then living within walking distance of the Esentepe turn off would suit them better, as there are rgular buses from the village.

Hi Tom, thanks for the info. There is also a bus at 15.30 from Esentepe which for some reason doesn't show on Meteor site - I got the timetable from the bus driver recently and have seen the bus en route at that time. On weekends and public holidays the first bus in each direction leaves 30 minutes later, i.e. at 07.15 from Esentepe and 08.00 from Girne, the rest of the buses depart at the normal times

the buses that come over the hill via kucuk erenkoy -do they head for girne? if so do you know what times they return

Yes they have Girne on the front so assume they go there. I do not know what time they return. I would ask next time you are in town.
