Terrible reception on NTV

Having dreadful problems with NTV tonight and now the picture has gone totally. Rebooted twice but no help and the helpline is off so assume others are having the same troubles. Why can't NTV provide a proper service?

NTV a complete waste of time tonight, reception, when you can get anything, keeps freezing or switching off altogether, I don't think I'll bother renewing my package.

It appears that some, if not all of us maybe trying to watch Chelsea v Everton on BT Sport 1.
I also noticed the Live help was "away" this might indicate that many subscribers are all trying to contact the help line all at the same time. But I sent a message anyway.
Then, just in case someone suggested looking at NTV Homepage for any update/news I tried that, but there was nothing there. That could indicate the problem, if there is one with NTV has occurred very suddenly.
Finally, like the rest of you, I come on here, just to see if it is me, or if others are having issues.
I would like to add that Erol has tried to sort out my viewing issues and even though he has not given up, he keeps me informed.

For info we are currently sending out the following sms message to all MM customers
"we are currently experiencing a massive reduction in our link out to turkey resulting in slow speeds for all customers. we are working with ttnet to get this resolved as soon as possible"
Hard information is not available right now but it seems like TTnet in Turkey have lost about 3/4 of their capacity out from Turkey to the rest of the internet. Our link out to TTnet is down to about 25% of its normal level right now. We are doing all we can to get service back to normal as quickly as we can.
Sorry.

Also, NTV helpline is back online.
EDIT. post crossed with Erol's.

I think it is more of an internet problem than an NTV one. My speeds have been pretty poor now for a few days but today has been the worst it has ever been.

Well I am posting a little earlier and yes I am afraid that the issue is pretty much out side our control. That may sound like the 'same old same old' I guess but it is also essentially true and I can only tell you the truth, even if it is not what you want to hear.
This is a graph of our link out to Turkey via TTnet
You can see capacity is down to about 25% of normal levels and the problem occurred shortly before 21.50. I do not know for sure yet but I strongly suspect this is not only affecting all ISP's in Cyprus but also those in Turkey as well that use TTnet for their links out ot the rest of the internet.

As of about 20:42 the link has recovered to around 90% or normal. Things should be back to close to normal now.

Not just NTV, FilmOn unwatchable as was several sports sites. I am in agreement with erol, we will just have to accept it is outside of their control.

I had same problem too, but been down this road before so I checked My internet speed, found that to be too low to run NTV, checked multimax webpage for updates and noticed their support was "away". So, I text them to say what my speed was and asked if any known issues in my area. Do you know what? I got answer back within 10 minutes telling me about the issues.....I was a happy bunny!! I didn't get stressed, or have to keep fiddling with my router I turned the TV off and read a book!
I know it's frustrating when watching a programme but is it worth stressing over? Download your programme and watch it the next day........these guys are trying so hard to satisfy us but we have to help them too and slagging off NTV or MM when your not even sure where or what the breakdown is, that's just not right!
Multimax answered my text, I think that's pretty good service!

NTV is internet based TV, as such it suffers when there is an internet issue, just as Digituk suffers when there are heavy storms. If you subscribe to NTV you pretty much have to accept that. The only internet we can get here legally is via Turkey so therefore it follows that if Turkey have problems we will. Again these are beyond the control of any provider here on the island.
The fact that Erol and Kemal for that matter are willing to come on here and discuss these issues shows great transparency. Erol also goes well beyond his remit helping people with associated problems often when not on duty so cut him some slack. He is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable bloke and probably deserves a rise Kemal Where else in the world will the ISP go on a public forum to keep people informed, they do not have to so do kill the goose.

I do not have a problem with Kemal or Erol. Problem I have is with NTV!! Having complained & been told they would get back to me, nothing! My TV has been mostly rubbish since alleged upgrade! Very slow finding channels, buffering & pixeling. Yes I am with Multimax who inform me of complications by text or mail. Yes I do pay my subscription to them for NTV. I also understand to a degree the issues with Internet from Turkey! What is annoying me is the lack of communication from them to me,being they are aware of my situation. Maybe, just maybe it will hopefully be sorted soon to enable us to watch a programme from start to finish uninterrupted.

I'm still experiencing similar problems with my android box.
Sky News and Film On are the two most affected channels - both start up OK but after 5 mins or so they freeze and I have to reboot the channels.
Is this related to the issues in Turkey or could it be some other problem?
Thanks.
