For those interested, there is an update on the new Pension Pot where people can take out lump sums. If any of you are thinking about doing this or know someone who is, then the following, I believe, should be born in mind. It seems the UK Government have taken their time in revealing this.

Thank you for that, although it won't affect me already got the T shirt I do like to take an interest. Found out today that you can keep the tax on savings if your income is below £15k (I think that was the amount)

Couldn't agree more, I miscalculated the tax on my savings in 12/13 & owed 20p. I promptly sent a cheque & apology but still wasn't going to pay £107 they got wrong when my pension started, racked up £9k in fines because I didn't do SA's they wanted for 3 years. Had a phone call this week, this lady had recalculated & is sending me £51 & cancelling fines. You just can't make it up....good old HMR&C.
